Percy and Odysseus were both leaders but who was the better leader? Percy Jackson was the better leader. A good leader is loyal, thoughtful, open-minded, caring, and protective, and has good communication, and smart decision-making skills. The two people that are getting compared are Percy and Odysseus. Odysseus wasn't as good of a leader as Percy. Odysseus shouldn't even be referred to as a leader. Percy Jackson is brave and will fight for what he wants. When Percy was stopping the monster he put everything on the line. Percy was willing for his life to end so others could keep living. This falls into being a protective leader. Not only did Percy stop the monster he also went out of his way to shoot Charybodis. This was a smart decision made. On the other hand, Odysseus isn't willing to risk his life for others, he is actually doing the opposite. When Odysseus was on the boat he knew that Scylla would come down and take the men. Odysseus didn't tell his men that all he did was tell them to row faster after Scylla started coming down to the boat. Odysseus could have been trying to protect his men but because of this, he doesn't have anyone now. The actions of Odysseus had a negative impact on him. When Percy wanted the fleece he didn't stop when he did not succeed, he kept going until he got right where he wanted to be. Even though he had an enemy that didn't stop him from putting effort in. Percy is always being loyal to his people and what he wants. Percy also stopped the monsters which weren't easy. Odysseus did the opposite of this. Odysseus wasn't being a thoughtful leader when he left all of his men alone. Compared to Percy Jackson Odysseus is less of a leader and more of a follower. Odysseus did not lead, he just listened to what the Gods told
