Water Scarcity In The Industrial Revolution

Water scarcity is impacting people globally and in many different ways. What is water scarcity? Water scarcity is either a lack of water or no access to clean, safe, and potable water. What's the big deal about dirty water? Some people living in this stable area of the world may ask. Water is just water right? Wrong. Drinking unsafe water can be more dangerous than not having water. About 3.5 million people each year die from water related diseases. This issue happens all around the world, especially in poor rural areas and deserts that either have no water or the people are too poor to get clean water. Water gets contaminated when things like chemicals, pesticides, and humane waste get in the water and dissolve, making it unsafe to use or drink. For centuries, humans didn't know they were contaminating their water. They dumped their waste into their water sources because they just didn't know what was happening. This problem worsened in the Industrial Revolution when factories thought rivers were the perfect place for dumping the waste.
