How “NOT” to teach a child to water ski

If you have ever water skied, you know how difficult it can be in the beginning. It can get pretty tricky and scary! Consequently; the same goes for a child although, children are fearless until we plant the seeds of fear in their minds. At no time should we tell them if they want to try anything new; it could be their demise. There are challenges in everything they are going to face while maturing. Implanting fear shouldn’t be something we do unless their lives are in jeopardy. Henceforth; there are dangers to water skiing; dangers they should be aware of. Utilizing verbiage causing fear that is not leading to their impending death should be omitted; words such as; die, drown, blood, etc. The previously mentioned floridity of words would scare …show more content…

If they are held to far apart they are going to do the splits; if the skies are not under control as they come out of the water they will crash making them unable to get up or stay up once the boat begins to pull them. Knowing to lean back just a bit with their knees bent in front of them, assists in controlling the skies so they can slowly stand once the boat begins it forward motion the water, Make certain; if they think they may fall, they know to let go of the rope. Boycott telling them if they are not leaning back just slightly and are instead leaning too far forward this will cause them to smash their faces in the water while being pulled under by the boat, or worse, getting hit in the head with the skies while being rendered unconscious. Being ever so certain they understand that if they are leaning too far forward, it will cause them to become off balance and fall but do not tell them they could lose teeth or drown if this happens. Everyone knows this is a possibility, yet it rarely happens because we tell them if they think they are going to fall to let go of the
