To contribute to his argument, John Barry divulged the aspects of those who do practice diligence in their work by creating a scenario that makes the reader ponder about credibility and uncertainty among scientists. In order to make the reader envisage the results of negligence, John Barry depicted a situation of poor diligence to allow the reader to be acknowledged of the negative consequences of remiss research. According to Barry, he advocated that shoddy research leads to appalling repercussions, leaving colleagues to “pave roads over the path laid”. In other words, Barry suggesting that once a scientist has gathered “accurate” information, researchers will believe the scientists, thus creating more conflict over time. The author intentionally included this scenario in order to enlighten and startle the audience of the negative possibilities that can occur when one’s work is not proven evident and accurate.
Science is often stereotyped as a primarily independent endeavor. Most people will never step foot inside a research lab during their lifetime, so their only understanding of a scientific researcher is the one portrayed in books and movies -- the smart, eccentric, socially-isolated male who spends all his time in the lab and doesn’t do much else. People assume that biomedical research is only for introverts, since it is often misrepresented as pipetting miniscule amounts of liquids for hours on end. In addition, researchers are assumed to be unusually intelligent. How else are they going to cure cancer or discover life on Mars?
Majority of society believes in the myth of a noble scientist; taking no consideration that scientists are just as human as your average employee. It’s in human nature to make mistakes, to rationalize actions, and to make hard decisions to benefit themselves or others. Science has never been perfect, and most results that are known in the field come from failure. Moreover, it is difficult to meet the expectations of a perfect scientist because conflict occurs when trying to handle the responsibilities of research. There are a plethora of intrinsic and extrinsic factors that may have an effect on an individual.
As a prospective member of the Masters of Arts in History program at Liberty University I hope to accomplish several things. I am currently serving as a high school history teacher and this program will benefit both my students and myself alike in the foreseeable future. This includes reaching the goals of earning my master’s degree which will result in a higher level of professional knowledge in my content area, while increasing my income simultaneously. This is not the only positive factor, Liberty’s program will also contribute directly to growth in regards to my relationship with Jesus Christ.

I have set going to dental school as a primary goal after graduating. My goal is to eventually obtain a D.D.S (Doctor of Dentist Surgery) degree. They examined a unique model of collaboration in the U.K., that reflected how the research can inform teaching and vice versa. The study concluded that power and responsibility needs to be shared between researchers and teachers for the research to be relevant and meaningful. In other words, there is a need of an exchange of knowledge between researches and schools rather than a transfer of knowledge from researchers to schools. In my opinion, science in general should focus in the real-world experiments.

Applied scientists have a variety of responsibilities throughout the corrections field such as treatment and counseling. An example of an applied scientist within the court system would be an expert witness. An expert witness is an individual that possesses specialized knowledge who can testify regarding this information in court (Mullen, 2010).

As a child, I was never aware of my family’s financial struggles. My parents divorced when I was 12 and money became the central issue in my life. I found myself worrying about mortgages, health bills, and grocery money at a very young age. As I continued to grow, I vowed to myself that I would not struggle financially the way my parents had to. I want to escape the socioeconomic status I was born into, which is why I am pursuing a post-secondary education.
