Wave Riders is a mid-level company that manufactures inflatable boats for both leisure and military use. The company has been facing stiff competition from its competitors Hagen and Surf ZA. The purpose of the paper will be to study extensively the various leadership styles that can be employed by Wave Riders to ensure that they remain competitive as well as profitable. This is not an easy task given the high level of management in the targeted markets. The study will make John, the acting CEO as well as George, the Human Resource Manager to advance the study and to show how effective the various leadership styles were chosen will be when efficiently employed (Major Goals of Business Firms 2015). 1 Introduction to Leadership Every day people are inspired to do more and give more of their time and abilities towards the achievement of a common goal. One of the areas where leadership is a crucial aspect is in top management whereby the employees are reliant on their leaders for direction, guidance and assurance. Wave Riders seems to lack a proper structure that can involve employee at the various levels into a common decision-making process. Where employees feel that they have been consulted in the decision-making process, they are more likely to commit to the cause. This is another theory that John, the C.E.O can adopt to help Wave Riders to attain improved financial success. Wave Riders has many managers on many levels that each have a role to play in ensuring the success of the company.
