Many people are known for sports like basketball,football,and soccer but not hockey but Wayne Gretzky changed all that. He is remembered for how he played and the practice and effort he put into his team. He has every single medal there is and broke every single record set by hockey star Gordon Howe. Wayne Gretzky is an innovative hockey player who created a new style of hockey, and he made a society for underprivileged youth to teach them how to play the game. Wayne Gretzky was called the greatest hockey player ever to live because he was smart and was a pinpoint passer. Also, he teaches underprivileged youth hockey. “Gretzky has also raised money for hospitals, after-school programs, and groups working to find cures for diseases. He is particularly proud of his work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation” ( “Capstone,n.d.). This is showing how he changed the lives of children all around the world. “From his teen years, Gretzky was featured in newspapers, magazines, radio, and television as something special, as a child prodigy” ( Capstone,n.d.). From his childhood years, he was making hockey more known in
