Crime isn’t too terrible in Minnesota and Wisconsin cities, but there are a few incidents that need or should be looked at in a wider range and how others saw the incident. There is crime everywhere you go, in every city, even in Duluth, Minnesota and Superior, Wisconsin. Crime in the area effects both citizens, police, the community, and the city itself. If a city has a high crime rate, people won’t want to go there. A whole community could be seen as unwelcoming if a few felonies are committed in the area. The police department of Duluth, Minnesota have many ways of preventing crimes and how to help people on what they should do before becoming a victim of a crime. Duluth was rated an F in crime by Areavibes and Superior was rated a D- in crime by Areavibes. There are about 30,000 people in the Superior area and both the neighborhoodscout and areavibes have the same data for Superior. In Superior, there was a total of 60 violent crimes and a total of 1,255 property crimes. In Duluth, there are about 86,300 people there. The neighborhoodscout and areavibes have the same data stating how there was a total of 4,199 crimes, with a total of 317 violent crimes and 3,882 property crimes. These systems were made and recorded data in 2000 and in 2010 to 2018. There are crimes that still aren’t reported but when they are people become more aware of what they need to be looking for. Attackers can attack from any direction, even in your sleep. A 20-year old Duluth man was attacked by an intruder in his sleep, the intruder was looking for a place to stay that night and didn’t want the man to call the police so he stabbed him before he could even attempt to make the call. This incident can be seen as sad and wrong, sad that the intruder need to make a wrong for survival and wrong that the intruder killed attacked and injured the sleeping man.
