Title Money is often viewed as “the root of all evil”, but never “the product of all evil”. Currencies are created and utilized globally along with people who strive to get as much as possible. Wealth is an objective that people will try to obtain, no matter how it affects others. this is evident in situations like robbery, where people can get hurt or murdered for the possession of wealth. In the play, A Raisin in the Sun, Lorraine Hansberry presents the ubiquitousness of poverty, the ordeal of theft, and the occurrence of buying a house in order to convey how money can create opportunities and conflicts, ultimately illustrating that money has an impact in every decision in life. In the play, Walter cries out after his money is stolen, “Man, I trusted you . . . Man, I put my life in your hands . . . Man . . . THAT MONEY IS MADE OUT OF [BIG WALTER’S] FLESH –” (128). This provides the message that people will do whatever possible to achieve said wealth, even if it means betrayal. Willy was Walters freind, which illustrates how curruptive money can be. Even though Willy understands how much that money meant for Walter and Bobo, since Walters son sleeps on a couch every night. This money was suppose to be used in springfield to buy the lisense for alchohol distrobution. Willy devestated his freinds by doing this and causes walter to rethink his worldly views. Walter said ( quote). This contextualizes how greived walter was when his dreams and aspirations were snatched. He later felt worse because the money wasnt only his share, but also Beneathas. Beneatha was extremely disappointed in Walter for losing the money since her dream was to be a doctor. This illustrates how wealth directly quaralates with peoples hopes and desires, furthermore describing how money can corrupt those who want
