The objective of this paper is to analyze the weather and climate conditions of the United States over a five-day period and two of its cities, Portland, Oregon and Reno, Nevada. On the sixth day, I will predict the weather conditions for the U.S. and those two cities. I will describe the weather features, such as pressure and cold fronts, located over the country and explain how they affect different aspects of the weather in the U.S. I will also explain how these features affect the weather of Portland and Reno. During these five days, I will watch where these weather features are located and where they move to across the country. Over the course of five days, I will collect 15 weather, temperature, and satellite maps of the United States …show more content…
had moved and changed. The cold front in the southeast had moved further east, leaving an area of high pressure behind it. There was also a new cold front in the southwest with low pressure in the surrounding areas. Because of this, there was heavy cloud coverage in the west of the nation and heavy clouds along the front in the east. The only substantial change in temperatures across the country was the temperatures became slightly cooler in the west. In Portland, the temperature ranged from the high 50s to low 40s with 65% humidity. The pressure was low and there was a high chance of rain showers that day. The temperatures in Reno were similar to those of Portland, only ranging a little lower. The city experienced low pressure and low humidity. There were also no chances of …show more content…
There was also an occluded and cold front throughout the Midwest. All of these fronts were accompanied by low pressure. Temperatures were much higher in the south east than they had been previously, possible due to the warm front in the area. Following along the fronts were high concentrations of clouds, with barely any clouds in the south below the warm front. In Reno, the weather was pretty fair and cool with the weather being similar to the previous day’s. There was no precipitation currently nor was there any in the upcoming forecast. The pressure and humidity were both low. Just like in Reno, there was no precipitation of any kind in the city of Portland. The temperature in Portland was similar to Reno’s although a bit higher. There were no fronts or other weather features in either areas to affect the cities’
