Evaluation of Websites The technology has been growing over the years and the internet is growing wide too. More websites are developed to meet the diverse needs of the people. It has become evident that individuals have become reliant on the internet for information through different websites. However, determining whether the information is credible in a given website has been a problem. There are some websites that are the hoax, where information present in such websites cannot be relied upon since it is mainly opinion. This shows the need to evaluate websites to understand their credibility for the positive well-being of individuals in the society and internet world. At the bottom of the website, there is a contact us section where when you click, the phone number and email of the organization is evident. Similarly, there is also contact information for the author, where the author’s twitters handle and the Facebook information is given. Similarly, the website lists the author’s credentials at the end of the website. In relation to the above-mentioned article, the author, Neil Irwin, is said to be a senior economics correspondent for the Upshot. He is also the author of “The Alchemists: Three Central Bankers and a World on Fire” (Neil). The author is associated with The Washington Post and Upshot, which are respected and well-known organization. The information present is neatly arranged and flows in a very acceptable means. The webpage is engaging to the reader and offers reliable information. It is evident from my personal perspective that the writer spent time proofreading through the information posted as there are minimal errors in the work. The site is an old site but updated regularly with information. The author has pointed out earlier is a senior economics corresponding to the Upshot. This shows the level of experience from the authors and the reliability of the information from the website. This is a positive indication in relation to the website as it shows its positive growth over
