Brittney Smith a 17 year old girl who goes to Maplewood High School where she is an honor roll student, a cheerleader, and is the student body president for the Junior classmen. She enjoys spending time with her family, hanging out with her friends, and she make sures that she makes the right decisions for the school. Brittney usually gets along with everyone in the school even the unpopular kids, but there is this one person she doesn’t like or can’t stand to be around. His name is Andre Jones, Andre is the captain of the basketball team and star player. Even though Brittney is around Andre during basketball games, she still refuses to talk to him or go near him.
When I was attending Kaneland John Shields Elementary School in Sugar Grove, everday was just the same. First we started out with Silent reading our books, and then moved onto reading with our guided reading books. Next, we would move onto writing, where some days we free wrote and others we had an assignment. After Writing we had specials, which consisted of, art, P.E, computer,and music. Then we had lunch, math,and lastly social studies and science.
Even though it went by quickly for you, it felt like an eternity for us, until we got onto this stage today. I remember watching this ceremony as a fifth grader, and never knowing how quickly we would be on the same stage. Now we are on stage, graduating as 8th graders to continue our education onto high school and eventually college. After walking out of those doors tonight, we will begin a new chapter in our lives.
First, to the those who have made this night possible. I, and all the other graduates sitting here tonight would like to thank the Winton Woods High School Administration, Counselors, Teachers, as well as those from around the district, including the Winton Woods School District Board of Education and Superintendent for the countless nights that they invested in us over the past 13 years. While many times it felt like you were being unreasonable and much harder than necessary, we can see now, your persistent nature was borne from your unadulterated passion to ameliorate our lives for decades to come. Second, on behalf of the Winton Woods Class of 2017, we would all like to extend our deepest appreciation to the friends and family in attendance tonight.
Graduation “Molly Wild… Megan Wild… Monica Wild… Maria Wild…Congratulations, you have all passed with a grade point average of 4.9 or in Megan’s case 4.95 (Ha ha ha!) Well keep up the good work and I promise you will ALL go far in your Adulthood. “Landon Dailey, Dylan Dailey,& Kyle Dailey…”“I can’t believe we’re finally going to college!! We made it…(I MADE IT!!)”
The day before I started middle school, my older brother, Harrison, asked me what I was the most excited about. I replied, rather foolishly, that I was excited to get lost. I held a vision in my mind of Camels Hump Middle School as a huge and complicated building, Hogwarts-esque in scale, with twisting hallways and hundreds of unique rooms. I wanted to explore, get lost, and take a big step outside of my comfort zone. Harrison let me know that our middle school consisted of 4 hallways, nobody gets lost, and staying inside of comfort zones is like a professional sport in middle school.
and many careers are available for those who wants to work in medical, engineering, science-working field. Having all these traits will help you slide through life easier with a purpose, code, having the foundation for success and mostly importantly, it will make your life fulfilling with all your dreams and goals achieved. It will shape you as an individual, your family, society, nation and the world. I would like to congratulate you and your parents for having these traits and I’m looking forward to this upcoming year and making wonderful memories throughout the school year. I now feel more familiar with UA’s campus, and the surrounding Tuscaloosa area, and I know now of all that I can do to make the most of my time here. I wish to thank everyone for coming out here today: proud parents and grandparents, friends, faculty, maybe some highly confused great grandparents, and a whole lot of hung over college kids. I realize that being asked to speak at commencement is not only a great honor, but also a task that brings with it a certain amount of responsibility. I have racked my brain and heart prior to coming before you today, wanting to say something that was real, something that would actually hold true meaning to the Hobart and William Smith class of 2017; my classmates, my future colleagues and connections, my friends. I figured, why not start with the truth? I did not plan on attending Hobart and William Smith Colleges; in fact it was not really on my radar
This year is important for me; now, I am a senior In Mercy College. I remember being a freshman and not understanding the idea of what life was outside high school. The transition was scary because I had to start over again; however, the experience was worthwhile. I am grateful for Mercy College for providing me with the scholarships that I needed to further my education. I hope to own my practice as a psychologist and I am here to thank my mother for supporting my decision.
Middle school was nothing less than a controlled mess: cluttered, chaotic, and strewn, but understandable to those who lived in it. I started a new segment of my life during a difficult chapter. During the summer between the fifth and sixth grade, I had a falling out with most of my friends. It was over something stupid, some meaningless childhood argument that I can hardly remember the meaning of now, but at the time, stood for an injustice I couldn’t roll over for.
For many adolescents entering middle school is an overwhelming and anxious experience. It's a time of transition and offers a whole new learning experience that is very different from elementary school. Students are used to being with the same students and one main teacher throughout the day in a self contained classroom. The elementary teachers get to know the students very well and a safe and comfortable
Lone Star High School is a location where students can feel secure and have many opportunities to showcase their skills and leadership qualities. Our campus is built upon five figurative pillars; Integrity, Strength, Stewardship, Loyalty and Perseverance. These pillars are what make us the admirable school that we are today. I believe everyone of our students must have these five qualities in order to ensure success now and later on in the future. As a student I believe that for one to have integrity they must show signs of righteous ethical morals.

I am truly honored to be considered for being a part of The national honor Society. Being a part of this organization has been a goal for me since I first knew about what it was, and how it does great things for the community. I am inspired when I hear the great actions it national honor Society has done and I hope to be a part of this admirable organization. I feel I am qualified to be a part of this organization because of my dedication and hard work. Every day I follow the same routine.
