Well-Respected Characters In Othello

In Shakespeare’s tragedy Othello, the title character is a 16th century Moorish general of the Venetian army who, because of the cultural and historical background of the play’s setting, the playwright, and the original intended audience, is portrayed as both well-respected for his military prowess and disparaged for his race. Similarly, because of non U.S. citizens coming to the U.S. illegally, hispanics in today’s American society are both known for their hard work that they have done for the American people and they are also being labeled as people who are rapists and murderers for the crimes they have caused in America.

He always targets hispanics and latinos because he truly believes that we hispanics bring In the article “9 Outrageous Things Donald Trump Has Said About Latinos” Trump is against hispanics, but according to the article it states, “Trump responded to his previous claims that the Mexican government was purposefully sending undocumented criminals over the border” which is saying that all Mexican people in America are rapists, which is Trump’s point of view towards Mexicans. Not all Mexicans are rapists. Also in the same article it states, “80 percent of women and girls from Central America are raped by human smugglers… while immigrating to the U.S… Trump shot back dismissing the victims and suggesting Latino immigrants were the ones raping the victims” this shows how Trump is using the negative stereotypes that all Latinos are rapists because many women were raped in Central America. Not all Latinos or hispanics are rapists, so small crimes like that should not define that as a whole because not all hispanics isn’t a criminal, murderer, and rapist just like Trump says everytime he talks about immigrants and hispanics in general.
