Pre Cold War Period: Operation Paperclip Germany was not only militarily developed country but also technologically developed country. Particularly, the failure of the Operation Barbarossa triggered emergence of technological studies because the operation affected the army of Nazi Germany adversely. Only technological enhancements could sustain the power of Nazi Germany. Therefore, Germany focused on technological studies. He was one of the pioneer in the missile industry and he was also inventor of the V-2 missile which were one of the most popular missiles in the Second World War. In 2 May 1945, Wernher von Braun and his brother Magnus von Braun approached United States’ 44th Infantry Division. Magnus von Braun calling out with broken English: "My name is Magnus von Braun. My brother invented the V-2. We want to surrender." Thus, USA incorporated Wernher von Braun to its structure. 27 years later, he will have a significant role in the making of Saturn V rockets which will help the first step of Neil Armstrong on the moon. The states also had many rocket scientist who comes from Nazi Germany. In 1955 the USA and USSR announced that their new goal is launching satellite to orbit. Firstly the USSR launched a satellite successfully to orbit in October 4, 1957. This movement made the USSR ahead. Then, four months later the USA respond with their own first satellite Explorer I. The competition warmed up. Four years later the USSR again became leader in the race. Soviet Union send an astronaut to the orbit. The name of the spacecraft was “Vostok I” and Yuri Gagarin was the only crew of the vehicle. After nearly one year later On February 20, 1962, Friendship 7 code named spacecraft launched with John Glenn to the
