When two or more strong empire coexisted and both live right next to each other tensions will ensue, and incapable to live together under one roof. Both empires evolved apart from one another believing in different customs, religion, and economy and so on. Tensions among Western and Eastern Roman empire came about; claiming to be the only legitimate empire that is superior in every aspect. (Liudprand, 361) Reason why the emperor from Eastern Empire was frustrated because the letter that Liudprand was given by the Western refers Emperor Otto as just a king for his side of the empire, not acknowledging him as a sole authority for all the Christians.
