Flood of Lies The Imposter, left me with a lot of questions. What actually happened to Nicholas Barclay? Did Nicholas Barclay’s family play a role in the disappearance of Nicholas? Will Charlie Parker ever find the remains of Nicholas Barclay, if he was indeed murdered? I feel like the film could have focused a little more on finding justice for Nicholas Barclay. In my alternative ending for, The Imposter, Charlie Parker would have found the remains of Nicholas Barclay in the backyard of his original home in San Antonio, Texas, the family would have covered up the murder, and Nicholas Barclay’s mother-Beverly Dollarhide- would have been proven guilty for the murder of her son. With the remains of Nicholas’s body found by Charlie Parker, and Bourdin claiming that Dollarhide killed Nicholas Barclay- she would have been charged for the murder of Barclay and put on trial. On trial, is where the family would have come forward and admitted to knowing about the murder of their own- Nicholas. They would have admitted to covering up all those years, to protect their mother. Dollarhide would have been convicted for killing Nicholas in a drug induced, drunken rage when he did not come home on time, one night. The murder would have been accidental, Dollarhide did not actually mean to beat her son into oblivion and break his neck. She was so strung out on drugs and alcohol, that she did not even know what she was doing- this was why the family covered up all those years, because they knew the murder was a mistake. However, in the end, Dollarhide would have been sentenced to life, for murdering her son. Along with Dollarhide, both Carey and Bryan Gibson would be charged with accessory to the murder. The would both go on to serve ten years in
