Ludwig van Beethoven was a famous composer who came to light in between the Classical and Baroque era styles. Beethoven was born in Bonn, Germany in December, 1770. Unfortunately, no one is sure of the exact date of his birth. Beethoven was always incredibly musically talented, and his father made sure of it. Beethoven played the violin, but indulged in improvisation more than reading actual scores. Beethoven’s first composition was created in 1782, when he was 12 years old. The composition was a set of nine variations on the piano. It was written in C Minor. Beethoven continued in his passion for music, and by age 22, found himself in Vienna, performing in the salons of the Viennese nobility. He went forth with performing and became well-known.
