In Lees’s To Kill a Mockingbird, the author included two very valuable life lessons that every reader can apply to his/her life. In this book, the relationship between three characters formed the basis of the life lessons. The engagement between the characters was very positive resulting in a new set of friends. Not only did these characters gain lifelong friends, the bond between them also brought out their best qualities. The relationship is between three characters, Boo Radley, Jem Finch, and Scout Finch. Lee used two important morals in the characters lives to show the audience an example of how to apply it in the real world. The first lesson is people should not always believe what they hear from other people. Instead of believing hearsay, go and figure out the situation for yourself. Also, people are not always who they seem to be, so do not underestimate them. The author used Boo Radley, Jem Finch and Scout Finch to show the reader about the people who applied these lessons to their own lives. Boo Radley was a character in this book that was accused by the town of being a “malevolent phantom”, an outcast, and worse. Jem and Scout Finch heard this from the town, but refused to believe it. Boo Radley also brought out the best in Jem and Scout Finch by making them climb out of their comfort zone to solve a mystery. After a few days, the siblings did not want to believe the town’s opinions about Boo Radley because they believed there was something that was missing from the story.
