New entrants
The threat of new entrants are medium/low as broadcasting company needs to have solid establishment, customer base and product that is why is very difficult to compete. However, it has been a growing competition by big companies like BT which are amplifying their offer in order to reach new customers.
Sky has a strong customer relation, the firm knows how to retain customers with new offers but over the last couple of years, there has been no more growth in the traditional TV sector. Despite the advanced technologies and the huge customer base, sky has to face a customer churn due to the different offer appearing to the market. For this reason, sky has to constantly update its products/services in order to lead the market.

Sky works very closely with its the suppliers, building a business partnership with investment aimed on a sustainable relationship where both parts can see benefits of working together for long-term success. In addition sky is using Sedex which is an online suppliers management tool that allow the chain to input, share information and identifying issues

Rivalry
Threats of broadcasting companies like sky are medium/low as there are lots of companies offering broadcasting service but the wide variety of exclusive channels and the high quality are huge barriers for the existing companies. That is because sky has channel with exclusive rights to broadcast sports (premier league matches, Olympic games, etc.) Documentary, news, national events and festival (such as concerts, queen speech etc.)
In spite of that the competition is still medium because competitors are cheaper than the usual sky package and in addition they have favourable regulations by the government ( for instance BBC).
