The Russian Revolution The Russian Revolution was one of the most catastrophic wars in history. Nearly 50 million people died during this time. It all began around 1905 when Tsar Nicholas II was the leader of Russia. The working class and farmers did not like Tsar Nicholas II because of his harsh leadership skills. During this time, the people of Russia worked for very little pay and many people had little food. They were also treated very badly and worked in difficult conditions. This would eventually lead to the collapse of the Russian Empire.
There were many events that lead up to the Russian Revolution. For one, Tsar made it illegal for people to have freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and even entitlement to their own opinion. In some cases, people would be killed or imprisoned for saying something negative about their leader. They were often tricked or forced to go with the police officers. The people of Russia would even put up a fight because they knew that eventually they would be found and captured.

This caused many to become frustrated with their government. In this panic, people started to buy their food from cities that where already experiencing a low food source. Strikes continued to grow there was known 200,000 people marching to Tsar’s home to force him to make better working conditions. Tsar realized what the people were doing and order troops to open fire on them. Many of the workers were killed and injured. This was known as Bloody Sunday. After this had happened the police had realized what Tsar was doing and started to rebel against him. The people of Russia forced Tsar to give up his leadership. Now the new Government was ruled by the Petrograd Soviet and the Provisional
