Target has a lot of strengths on its marketing and how the store is ran. With the exclusive brands of clothes, shoes and interior décor it sets them apart. When you go shop at the stores they have many selections on the floor and if you can’t find it there then you can always look online. Ordering products and getting them delivered to your home has just gotten easier. Target also gives you the option of ordering online and picking it up in the store if it is available so that you don’t have to pay for shipping or have to wait a couple of days for it to come in. A lot of people can now go shop while they wait on their medicine to get filled at the store. They really put themselves in competition with Wal-Mart with putting a pharmacy and selling groceries in their stores. Although the grocery part of the store is not really helping them make money it is convenient. Some people think that this might be one of Targets weaknesses. Some of the grocery products that they sell are overpriced and they don’t have a huge selection like Wal-Mart or HEB does. Target prices are a little more expensive than Walmart or Amazon and I think that some people just don’t go to Target because it is not as affordable. Prices should be more competitive so that they can gain more business of different income families. The study shows that the median range of income for a family that shops at Target is $63,000 while Walmart’s is $53,000. This means that lower income families don’t go to Target because it isn’t affordable in everything they need. They also only purchase necessities and clothing that is lower quality than what is offered at Target.
