The 1818 attack on Pensacola was the last military action in the First Seminole War. The U.S. had received information that the Spanish were supplying weapons, ammunition, and supplies in their fight with the United States. General Jackson and his men set off to Pensacola and upon arrival found the Spanish Troops had taken shelter in the newly built Fort Barrancas. After both sides exchanged artillery fire’ for a few days, the fort was rendered inhabitable from artillery shells which hit a magazine causing the wooden structures to burn. Three times Jackson demanded the surrender of the fort, and three times Masot refused it.

Charleston, S.C. Coming from an artillery background, Huse arranged his travel plans to pass through Charleston so that he might witness, firsthand, the effects that Gen. Beauregard’s cannonade had had on the fort. Having arrived in Charleston in the evening, Huse took lodging before traveling to Morris Island the following morning. Accompanied by two artillery captains, the new Army Major then traveled by row boat to Fort Sumter to observe the damage. After returning to the mainland, the men flopped on the sandy beach staring across the water at the fort.
April 2, 2017. The Battle of Sayler’s creek proved horrendous for the Army of Northern Virginia, with the Confederates suffering thousands of casualties while the North experienced a casualty count of roughly a thousand men. This battle was the battle that broke the Confederate machine and proved that the Army of Northern Virginia’s success was losing hope. As a reaction to the bloody defeat, Ulysses S. Grant sent a telegram to Robert E. Lee, General of the Army of Northern Virginia, asking Lee for an end to the useless violence by surrendering his army.

Sherman´s March to the Sea was the most destructive campaign against a civilian population during the Civil War; it began in Atlanta on November 15, 1864, and concluded in Savannah on December 21.The purpose of this “March to the Sea” was to frighten Georgia 's civilian population into abandoning the Confederate cause. Sherman led more than 60,000 soldiers on a 285 mile march. Sherman wanted his march to be so secret that he cut telegraph line to avoid enemy reports of his location. When he was on his was he burned houses.

Tents and shelters were mainly patched together concoctions of whatever could be found” . And despite the semi-victory at the Battle of Bunker Hill and successfully retaking Boston from British control, the Continental Army still faced trying times as they suffered defeat after defeat. The troubles of the Americans began with losing New York City in a humiliating defeat in the first major battle after the Declaration of Independence, and the first major battle in the War for American Independence. It was a complete disaster from America’s perspective; the only success of the night was the completely successful withdrawal Washington managed in the dead of night without alarming the enemy.
Jackson, President or King? Many hate him, many love him. I strongly believe Jackson was not in the wrong for the Nullification Crisis, but rather the opposite. The Nullification Crisis was South Carolina’s conflict against the U.S Government and Jackson by refusing to follow the Tariff of abominations, while threating to seceede. Jackson was blamed for this incident because of John C. Calhoun who incited everything, causing Jackson to lower the Tax of Abominations multiple times to appease the South, preventing the South from setting a terrible precedent.
After building Fort Charlotte and Spanish Fort, Galvex returned on his journey to the City of Pensacola by ship taking the bay route now known as Pensacola Bay. The battle began by Galvez opening a battery on a hill just enough in range to Fort George and fired. As did the British retaliated. Sherman's March to the Sea is the name commonly given to the Savannah Campaign. In thirty seven weeks, Sherman marched 62,000 men more than three hundred miles across Georgia. In his path lay ruin. Bridges, cotton, livestock, factories, telegraph lines and hundreds of miles of railroads were destroyed. The campaign begins on November 15, when Sherman's troops leave Atlanta after they razed it to the ground.
The same day that Jackson attacked, the governor, Mateo Gonzalez Manrique, emerged waiving a white flag. His only condition to surrender was that the city would be spared. Also on that day, Fort San Miguel was capitulated and the British then moved to Fort San Carlos.
