Historians have different views about particular issues. Using both sources and your understanding of the historical context, which of these different interpretations about the impact of WW2 on German people do you find more convincing?

Interpretation A states that the RAF bombing had more of an impact on the German people as 100,000 civilians died overall and 3.6 million homes were destroyed overall but the German production levels would then rise. Whereas interpretation B states that many German people were not happy with the Nazi regime but they did not actively revolt against them they instead passively did it by doing actions which the Nazis were against for example smoking in front of Nazi officers. The source states ‘There is little evidence that bombing strengthened the resolve of the urban population to hold out longer or fight harder’The RAF attacked Berlin for the first time in September 1940 and after that, they started a bombing campaign in Germany which included three major attacks in Cologne, Hamburg and Dresden. The attack in Cologne happened in May 1942 when the RAF dropped 1,000 pounds of bombs which resulted in 45,000 homes being destroyed and 500 people being killed but their industrial production was later back to normal after two weeks. A year later there was a bombing raid in Hamburg which was from 24 July to 2 August 1943 this raid resulted in 40,000-50,000 people being killed and 40,000 being injured and 61% of German homes were destroyed but only 10% of their industrial capacity war affected but this attack was also devastating with the Germans morale as by 1944 there were fears of gas attacks happening also throughout these raids. The interpretation also states ‘Pasism everywhere’ This was because the bombing attacks would have a great effect on the morale of the German people as a large number of homes had been destroyed and a large number of people had died. But the morale was low because the German people had felt dissatisfied with the Nazi regime as they felt that they didn't care what happened to the civilians instead they only cared about their Nazi mission. Another reason for civilian dissatisfaction within the Nazi party is that many of the high-up leaders didn't visit the ruins of the attacks but Geobells was one of the only leading Nazis who visited a bombed city as Hitler or anyone else didn't do this. A third thing which interpretation A states is that ‘German war output increased’.This was mainly due to Speers who was the Reich Minister of Armaments and War Production this meant that he was in charge of all industrial outputs and raw materials in
