The Grand Canyon is one of the many natural canyons in the United States and the fourth largest canyon in the world. People shouldn’t be able to build on the Grand Canyon. I personally have been there and building on it would ruin the natural pureness. The Grand Canyon is one of the seven wonders of the natural world. This national park has been classified as a national park since 1919 or 97 years. Not only have I been to the Grand Canyon, but over five million people visits the Grand Canyon National Park per year. The Grand Canyon is a part of the Grand Canyon National Park. If big companies get permission to build on one of the many national parks in the United States, more companies will think they have the right to build on other national parks. This would take away some America’s most peaceful and beautiful landmarks. In the Organic Act of 1916, it states, “ by such means as will leave them unimpaired for the enjoyment of future generations." Knowing this, by building on the Grand Canyon, you could easily break the law. …show more content…

The water amount the national park is supplying is already decreasing rapidly. The canyons water would be used to supply the new buildings going up. Which in the end, would be using up a valuable resource that is limited. Building on the Grand Canyon will not only affect all national parks and their rights, wildlife and natural beauty, but it could also be harmful to build on the rocky terrain of the Grand Canyon. For one thing, building by the edge could cause damage to not only the canyon itself, but it could cause the structure you are building there to be more insecure.
