Dating from 1949, new wave of women’s rights emphasized literal equality that would promote specific reforms and redefine what it meant to be a female. In 1914, there was a meeting that was held to discuss feminism and the meaning of it. The word “feminism” was entered into political vocabulary during the Progressive era (Foner, 702). It was a part of women’s movement. The “new feminism” basically was women trying to emancipate their selves. The goals of the feminist movement were to advance the thought that women had a point-of-view, let women have freedom and show that ladies had the same worth as men.
