The Most Horrific Conditions of the Slave Trade Experienced by Equiano In T “The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano” R Olaudah Equiano experiences horrific conditions in his slave trade experience. A One of the most horrific conditions Equiano experienced was when he got kidnapped for the second time. Before getting kidnapped, he was in such a wonderful home. His master at the time treated him like her own; he ate with them, followed her customs, played with her son, and hade other slaves tend to him. He went from being happy and satisfied to having everything ripped away from him in seconds. A He was tossed and forced onto a foreign boat that was controlled by people, he never seen before. The white people he never seen before would whip him, if he did not eat. All Olaudah saw was all the slaves having fetters around their hands and sometimes around their feet. The slave traders and the ship’s crew were terrifying to him. Equiano thought the slave traders were going to eat them. C Equiano said, “ I asked them if we were not to be eaten by those of white men with horrible looks, red faces, and loose hair” (Equiano 61). E All of this was so terrifying for Olaudah. He was only a kid at the time, so he thought the slave traders were going to eat them. He only thought that because he was never seen a white person in his life before. He didn’t know any better. The fear that was going through him was overpowering. He fainted purely out of fear of everything. S Lastly as you can see, Olaudah has experienced horrific conditions through the slave trade. He has been given everything just to get it taken away from him by destiny. Also, his journey on the slave ship was frightening. Only as an eleven year old boy, all those events has taken a huge toll on him. It is extremely unsettling that Olaudah Equiano had to experience through all those horrific conditions, such as being kidnapped twice and going through a journey on a slave
