Now in recent spring training games the average time per games has been cut nearly 45 minutes just by adding a 20 second pitch clock, and a 8 second clock for hitters to be in the box. The consequences of not making a pitch by the 20 second mark is a automatic ball in the count; and the result of not getting in the box before 8 seconds are up is a automatic strike in the count.
