B1. The Aztec and Inca civilizations are both deeply rooted in the history of the new world. There are many similarities between these two civilizations including the worshipping of numerous gods. However, there are also many differences. For instance, the Aztecs believed greatly in human sacrifice whereas the Inca only practiced it from time to time. When looking at these two civilizations, a great deal can be compared by looking at three major aspects; social, religious, and political. Its astonishing to see the similarities between two different civilizations that are from completely different regions.
The Aztec society was very hierarchal, and was broken up into sub-groups including: nobility, peasants, merchants, and slaves. It is understood that nobility usually stayed within the same families but all men had a chance to become noble because they were all seen as warriors. Noble families were very well off with this civilization as they generally received a good education and better chances to succeed. Family was very important within the Aztec civilization. The way that these leaders were selected was by a council of landowners. They would select potential candidates and then vote on who they thought would do the best job. These smaller rulers would then answer to the king of Aztecs. The councils also held the right to remove this leader if they felt as if he was not doing the best job possible. The head of the Inca was called the Sapa Inca. He had complete control over everything with the civilization. He was treated as a god by the Inca people. He was treated this way because the Inca people believed that the Sapa Inca was a descendent of their sun god. He held authority over all
