Have you ever read an allegory? Animal Farm, and Lord of the Flies, both symbolize the Russian revolution, in a better way. I'm going to be analyzing the characters in the Russian Revolution, Animal Farm, and Lord of the Flies, like how they come together as leaders, the change in their relationship and I’m going to compare and contrast Napoleon, Snowball, Stalin, Trotsky, Jack and Ralph. How do these leaders emerge as leaders? In the Animal Farm novel, Napoleon and Snowball were both leaders of the farm. Snowball takes charge by teaching the animals, adhering to animalism, and displaying bravery. Napoleon takes advantage of situations to seize authority through trickery and intimidation. For example, in Animal Farm, Napoleon says “Do not imagine leadership is a pleasure” and “it is a deep and heavy responsibility”,trying to trick the animals into not wanting to take leadership. In the Russian revolution Trosky and Stalin came together after Lenin's death. In the Lord of the Flies, From the beginning, Ralph's leadership skills are clear. Ralph is able to act with common sense and caution during the stress brought on by seeing the dead paratrooper on the hillside. In Animal Farm, Napoleon and Snowball's relationship changes because although the other animals toil and suffer, Napoleon and the other pigs steadily increase their privileges and authority.
