To boost their economy, France was capable of trading fur with the Native Americans. In addition, Spain was also capable of building their empire economically, due to their ability to explore, they discovered metals, specifically silver and gold, to carry back to Europe. Spain’s economy grew stronger because of the profits made from the metals, allowing their empire to be built. While Spain had their ups in their empire they eventually collapsed because of how dependent Spain was on their economy. Even though Spain influenced/impacted many other empires because they were dependent on their silver. An economy is important in empire building because the stronger the economy the richer the country and more powerful it becomes. Culturally, religious rivalry caused divisions in France when in Spain religion didn’t divide, but it did unify. The more unified a country is the more strength and power is inflicted towards that empire.
