During both the Holocaust people that were jews were shown and during the Salem Witch Trials people were shown. Both groups ended up killed for what they were whether it was true or not.During the salem witch trials even if you said you weren’t a witch but you were accused of one you would still be hanged if they considered you apart of witchcraft.The Holocaust were alike and different in many ways. These events are alike because of the hatred of others rose. Hatred that carries on throughout the years toward different people and for different events. In the play Danforth asks John Proctor to sign a document that says a confession of all the sins and witchcraft or his talks of the devil, and it would be hung for the village to see. John Proctor glances at the confession and then tears the document. Danforth asks John Proctor why he did not sign it. John Proctor then goes to say that “You have all witnessed it-it is enough.” he then goes on to say as he is sentenced to hang,”Because it is my name! Because I cannot have another in my life! Because I can lie and sign myself to lies! Because I am not worth the dust on the feet of them that hang! How may live without my name? I have given you my soul; leave my name!” In this lifetime the one true thing that no one can take away from you no matter what.
