Both The Soloist and Radio were movies that had great contrast between each other while also having a lot of similarities. Both movies have similarities in their characters, messages, and music but not a lot. Conversely, the movies differ in their characters because all of the characters in the films have different purposes, and personalities. In their messages, since their plot and characters are different both movies would have different meaning messages. The music is much more different in both films since one movie has a character that personalizes in music and Beethoven while the other not so much. Both movies have a powerful meaning and messages as they both make the viewers feel sorry for the two main characters which are Radio and Nathaniel, in two help these two characters if they had a chance, which is one of the similarities between these two movies. In the Soloist and Nathaniel Ayers was schizophrenic, he was living on the streets when he became close friends with Steve Lopez who throughout time started to deeply care for him, which shows that even if Nathaniel was living on the streets, and had an illness Steve accepted him for who he is and became close friends with him which goes the same with The Radio. In Radio it has the acceptance message where Radio gets bullied, locked into rooms, and influenced to do something, because he has some sort of illness, or he is black. Friendship also greatly affects the two movies, because the two main characters in both films are very close friends. The friendship between the main character of both movies symbolizes how friendships can be very powerful in changing a person, to changing a whole community. With these similarities, there are lots of contrasts as well. In the Soloist, it shows how even though Steve Lopez was a much richer person, who had a job, and who was white, became friends with someone who lives on the streets, with no money, shelter, and who is black, and helped him out, and cared for him.
