Approaches for Groups and Families Co-occurring disorders introduce a considerable challenge as they involve the parallel presence of mental health and substance use disorders. I explore and contrast two evidence-based intervention approaches for groups, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and two for families, Functional Family Therapy and Multidimensional Family Therapy.
