Zora’s Biography
Zora Neale Hurston was a renown African American author whose literal work played a critical role during the emancipation protests. Born in Alabama and brought up in Florida, Zora was always surrounded by a complex mix of Black and white neighbors in the vicinity (Lillios n. pag.). Zora saw massive evidence of what blacks were able to achieve on their own. These black achievements were a source of inspiration for Zora, which made her to shun inferiority. Zora was aware that many of the blacks were indoctrinated in inferiority, thereby making them linger in poverty (Lillios n. pag.). Beyoncé’s vocal control captivated many and she participated in many local competitions, scooping well over 30 awards (About Beyoncé n. pag.). Beyoncé played a central role in the formation of an adolescent vocal group comprised of girls only. Although this girl’s only group had several names, they settled with the name Destiny’s Child, which gain international accolade (About Beyoncé n. pag.). Beyoncé’s father, Mathew Knowles, became the manager of the group. The group produced Bills, Bills, Bills, Survivor, and Say My Name among many others that became major hits throughout the world (About Beyoncé n. pag.). Beyoncé and her cousin Rowland broke ties with the group and pursued their careers as individual solos. Prior to the death of her mother, Zora had a wonderful and supportive family. Similarly, Beyoncé had a supportive family with the father making the decision to quit his fulltime job to support his daughter’s career by becoming the group’s manager. Secondly, both Zora and Beyoncé are artists. The only difference is that Zora is a literal artist while Beyoncé is a musical artist. Thirdly, both Zora and Beyoncé’s works have received international recognition. Although Zora’s work never earned her the required financial reward through loyalties, her literal contributions are well-acknowledged across the globe. Similarly, Beyoncé’s music is internationally known.
Moreover, Zora and Beyoncé live as typical African Americans because they never expected to be given anything on a silver platter. Zora had to work extra hard to penetrate the white and male dominated literal world in order to make a name for herself. Similarly, Beyoncé has had to persevere hardships as an African American within a highly competitive music industry in order to make it to the top of the
