In the early 1900s there was a crisis in America, it was called the great depression.The great the depression was one of the worst times in american history. It was a time where the stock market crashed and many people lost their jobs. Millions of people were unemployed and it was just a terrible time period. Banks ran out of money and then people lost their money because they had it all in their banks. America needed all the help they can get. They tried so many solutions but none of them worked. But then there was the new deal. It was the solution that was supposed to end everything so then the great depression would end. But was it for the good or for the worse? It sounded great, it kinda was. But then there is the part where you see that it only fed a portion of all the kids in america. It was beneficial to one million children. But that still unfortunately was still not enough. It helped, but not as proficient as everyone thought it was.That is exactly how the new deal works. Seems great but really is not. It did not work out in the end. Which is very unfortunate because it seemed like the solution to end the great depression was solved. It is a real same that it did not work out. If maybe they did not have racial discrimination against african americans maybe I would side on it being successful because the hot lunch program was a pretty good and somewhat successful idea. But racial discrimination is very important and it should never be left out. But when we think about it why should we have believed it was a gonna be a great success? All the other times we tried we either came up short or just completely failed. What makes it different from all the other things we tried in the past? It was because we took americas word for it. Which is something that normally is not smart to do. Because now we live in a economy where we believe what anyone says, and that is not ok because for example when people run for office they can just make up a whole bunch of lies and then get voted and never be committed to
