Compassion means a lot to me. It is honestly one of the most favorable traits I have about myself. Compassion means a lot to me. What it means to me, is that everyone must stick together and help each other. Compassion is a beautiful thing that everyone needs and must have in thier life. It helped people survive and feel good about themselves. Compassion must be spread throughout the whole world and shared through everyone. Compassion is powerful. Help somebody when they need it. It means not to be selfish in a time of need. To me, it means to take people in and protect them. Compassion means to stay strong through tough times, such as the Holocaust. This is why Elie Wiesel talks so much about compassion during the Holocaust. It also means to show empathy towards another person. Stay true to yourself and the people around you. The kids from the movie “Paper Clips” showed compassion. They showed compassion by doing their project on the Holocaust in general. This project involved paperclips. Each paperclip would represent one Jew killed. The 8th graders were collecting paper clips to represent the Jews. They were trying to collect 2 million paper clips. When the got 2 million, they put it in a railroad car used to ship the Jews to concentration camps. This was compassion to the Jewish people because we’re showing them that we remember. Compassion is NOT a human right. But it is just the right thing to do. Having compassion is just like being human. Being human is to have feeling and compassion. A right is the freedom you deserve. You don’t have to be compassionate. But, it’s the right thing to do. So, it’s not a right, it’s just
