To me, academic integrity means something something similar to personal integrity, they both make reference that everyone should act in the most appropriate and correct way as possible. It means being honest, not only academically, but also with yourself. To me in the case of academic integrity as well as in personal integrity, we need to follow the core values that we have learned along our whole life, and in the same way apply to any other area of our life, either academically, at the work or even in your social life. The academic integrity has an intrinsic value. The educational mission of Stony Brook University as well as other universities, leads from the belief that academic integrity is the value of itself, and it is pr it should be central to everything that happens on campus in order to have a harmonic process and to function in the manner that it should work. There is a commitment that is acquired by being part of the university because the academic integrity has tangible benefits such as: the credibility and prestige of both students and teachers, administrators and especially the institution academic grades that confers by the college. The purpose of following the parameters of a university-based academic integrity shows us that if we do not assume our responsibility in the promotion and defense of certain values such as honesty, respect and responsibility, we can not build a community of learning integrates. Academic integrity establishes the academic activities in an open, honest and responsible manner. It is the key guiding principle to all members of the university community. Academic integrity must be the result of a process developed together by the teachers and the students of the university, in which roles are acquired and given the appropriate value to each of the members of the institution. The university cares about the students and their personal development; hence the attempts to "cheat" reflect a problem of identity that it is not in accordance with the teachings of this institution. The student should follow the guidelines given by the university and the teacher. The teacher should be fair with all of his students when it come to grading or even during class. The task of promoting academic integrity has as purpose, that students will form conviction and develop responsibility for their actions. The task of the teachers and the administrative body is to direct and guide students through out this
