This hate turned into a law that affected many people. Today, thanks to president donald trump many Mexicans are feeling unwelcomed due to being suspected of being murderers, rapist, and so many ugly things.
Of course racism is everywhere but being a hispanic child in public school in such a large city there was a large variation in races so everyone pretty much got along. Once I moved to Kentucky I noticed that I would get a lot of stares and that many people would try to seperate themselves from me. I would get a mix of racist remarks and questions about who I was. Some people were interested in why I could speak more than one language while others would push me away and make it clear that they did not want me to be around them. At first i was confused because as a 9 year old with no experience with racism I did not know what was going on.
Mexican American studies is a class offered to many students around the world so that they can learn about their ethnicity and culture backgrounds. In the documentary Precious Knowledge, there had been about 48% of Mexican American students from Tucson High that would drop out of school or not graduate. Then they decided to get an ethnic studies class. The class was a huge success and since then Tucson High had close to 100% of students graduating every year, and 85% going on to college.
Trump the Racist Don’t worry, none of this is offensive, Trump says, because he “loves the Mexican people” and “the Latinos love Trump.” Donald Trump’s relationship with his business partners has been in a spiraling down as he continues to refuse to apologize for his outrageous behavior. Trump has turned down every opportunity to take back his remarks regarding Mexican immigrants. Instead every time he talks about these issues they have only grown worse and more out of control. It is wise to say that Donald Trump is one of the most hated individuals by the Latino culture.
Diversity Practicum #1 For my first diversity practicum outing, I went to Lalibela’s Ethiopian restaurant in Sioux Falls. I am typically adventurous when going out to eat to hole-in-the-wall restaurants like this, but this was definitely different. Upon first arrival, the place was empty except for a table of young adult males in the back who all stopped to stare at me when I got there. They soon returned to their conversation in a language was that was completely beyond me.
Trump shouldn’t view the Mexicans as bad people because they are not the reason most Americans don’t work. Just because you are a certain race don’t mean you can’t trust their
The second term is racism, which is, “the systematic oppression and exploitation of human beings based on their belonging to a particular racial group or people. ‘Systematic’ indicates that we must look at the status of the group and not at those few individuals who may have climbed a ‘latter of success’ in the white society” (Andrzejewski, 1996, p.56). Racism is a very common word that gets thrown around a lot today. Even though that it is very common, I feel that racism is very hard to understand.
For example he had made a comment about building a wall between Mexico and the USA because all Mexicans are rapists and criminals. This is the same man who had targeted females and said such vulgar comments towards them. In other words the outcome of the election that Donald trump was elected president was a wake up call. After all the comments he had made by being racist and sexist, he still had a huge amount of supporters. Which is evident that racism still exists
If someone could explain to me how Trump is a "racist" because he wants to build a wall and send all the illegal immigrants back where they came from when his wife is clearly not from America that would be great... I don 't understand how people are okay with all these non US citizens coming to America and getting housing and food for free when we have thousands of US veterans out on the streets homeless and starving. Whom of which in my opinion should come before
People of different races that are coming from different countries are now being viewed negatively by both whites and blacks. Our most recent President Donald J Trump is very disrespectful when it comes to the matter. Calling them illegal immigrants and even now threatening them by building “The Great Wall of America”. It 's not just him though. Lots of born U.S. citizens blame immigrants for stealing their jobs.
I think I will always feel bad when I get judged by who I am and my culture It’s hard being Mexican. Even living in a small community people can be racist everywhere you go there are always going to be racist people. The first time I think I was judged was eleven years old.
The first time I had a brush with racism, was 2 years ago. I was going for my CNA class early in the morning (6:30am) walking down Mitchell street downtown. This white lady was coming out of her car and immediately she saw me jumped back in the car and close the door. I look behind me thinking she saw something that made her afraid, and that maybe, I thought I needed to be aware too. But there was no one behind me it was just the two of us on the street.
Racism is an ever growing issue in the world, and something we can’t hide behind. According to dictionary.com the defintion of racism is: “the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics, abilities, or qualities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races.” Race was created socially by how people perceive ideas and faces people are not used to yet. It is the “hatred” of one person to another individual, solely based on that person's belief that the person is inferior because of their language, birthplace and skin colour. Racism is an issue that has lasted throughout history, providing justification for a group’s dominance over another.
Racism was known for a long time ago since human creation, it had many negative consequences on the human race such as wars, and it also created disunion between different categories. Moreover, racism can be defined as the act that values a certain race or class over the others and give them the right to take control over the other categories, this right of control is due to the fact that these other categories are from a different back ground (Religion, race, sex….etc.). Racism is one of the biggest problems in our modern society, a lot of wars were caused by it and due to this fact it is considered as a major contributor to social unrest. It is a huge problem that requires acknowledgment. There are three different kinds of racism, direct discrimination, indirect discrimination and harassment.
“You don 't fight racism with racism, the best way to fight racism is with solidarity.” Naturally, societies don’t tend to understand change, and it scares them. Similar people in majority have their own principles, and when someone different interferes, they simply try to push it out. These people think that the minorities are their inferior. This belief is known as racism.
