One epiphany in my life that I feel has contributed to the person I am today would have to be when I turned the television on one day and focused on the news. I never truly cared about the news until I noticed reoccurring issues became so prominent in the world. The day I turned on the news I saw women marching all around America for their rights and equality. I looked up to them for speaking out on subjects that have been overlooked by the government and society. From that day forward I made it a point to focus on the news and take something from it each day. Since this I feel that I speak up more for what I believe is right and for the millions of people disregarded every day. This was important to me because I recognized that life doesn’t stop, it will continually move. Seeing my sister get married just validated that life goes on and it is what you make of it. It showed me that I sought to go the path in life she did, she graduated college with a master’s degree in only 4 years’ time and came out of college doing a job she loves.
