The idea of Federalism is one that motivates many different perceptions about the national government. What does Federalism mean? Federalism, is the balancing of the powers between the federal and state governments. Reserved, Concurrent, and Implied powers are all different forms of powers that certain portions of the government are permitted to respect. However, the Supreme Court is the highest court in the Judicial Branch, and because of this the Supreme Court controls most of the division between states rights, and federal powers. Reserved Powers, are “saved” for the State Government, or the people, by the Federal Government.
