Symbolism is essential to the theme of the book because throughout the book there are instances where something is supposed to have a double meaning. Fahrenheit 451 is a book written by Ray Bradbury and through the book there is a strong use of symbolism to make something also mean something else. The book follows a firemen Guy Montag who instead of stopping fires he starts them to get rid of books that people own because books aren’t allowed.
