In the Great Gatsby the green light symbolizes Gatsby’s unrequited love and passion for Daisy. This is depicted with urban realism. Gatsby often looks out from his dock fantasizing what him and Daisy could and should be. In Gatsby’s eyes the green light symbolizes Daisy and the one thing he was never able to get. In the “Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Gatsby longs for Daisy, however to get Daisy and become rich he involved himself in illegal activities and business. Although, he became immaculately wealthy he still doesn’t realize the cruel world Daisy invests herself into.
