What I Learned In A Jazz Class

Jazz is one of my favorite technique classes to take compared to all of the other genres of dance. When I first started dancing I realized that jazz made me feel the most excited and it felt the best on my body. In this essay, I will be discussing why I have selected jazz as one of my technique classes and how this class will help me better my education and career. I will also explain how I expect to grow in my jazz technique and what realistic plans I will take to get there. I selected this technique class because it is my favorite genre of dance and it will impact my future education and career by training me in the proper jazz technique so I can teach my future students. Jazz is such an amazing genre because its roots have shown the impact it has on community and culture. I enjoy being able to move my body in a way that gives a sense of freedom and a joyful spirit. It has shown me that a good amount of sass and upbeat music can help release stress and can create a great classroom environment. During classes, I tend to be very hard on myself if I don't get something right, so this causes me to shut down and not continue to try. One thing I struggle with the most is alignment and that causes me to fall out of turns. I have seen improvement since jazz one and I will continue to see improvement because I will like to continue to grow. I will push myself to keep trying even if I fall out of a turn or don't do a certain movement correctly. I will also take constructive criticism and apply it to myself and try correcting misplacement. I also plan to have fun and enjoy the class so that I am able to keep an open mind and not feel stressed in
