The Church greatly impacts and influences the world today. The parish/school deepened my understanding of the Church’s sacred designations. The Church can be marked as One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic. It can also be defined as the Body of Christ on Earth, the Temple of the Holy Spirit, and the Communion of Saints. These designations define what the Church is to the world. The Church's designations can show how it influence the world today. It is considered as One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic due to a multitude of reasons. One because all the members collaborate and congregate to form the “one” community. First of all, it is defined as the Body of Christ on Earth because the Body of Christ means communion. Even when Jesus died on the cross, he sent the Holy Spirit back to the Apostles, which stimulated them created the Church. Furthermore, during communion in mass, the Catholics will receive the Body and Blood of Christ, which is also his Body on Earth. Nextly, the Church is so called the Temple of the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit is within each one of us. It inspires the members in the Church, and provides us wonderful gifts and talents. In every person, we can see the Holy Spirit within him or her. Every good deed a person does we can see the Holy Spirit. Furthermore, those who belong to the Church are members of the Communion of Saints because it consists of Christians on earth (living) and the dead (in heaven or purgatory). An average student from a Catholic School is considered as the Communion of Saints. The phrase “Communion of Saints” is also included prayers such as the Apostle’s Creed and the Nicene Creed. These are the meanings of the Church’s designations and how they allude to the society
