he reviewed session critically discuss how a game, based pedagogy has been or could have been used to maximise the learning of participants? In order to examine whether in the reviewed session that game based pedagogy, has been or could have been used to maximise the learning of participants. I am firstly going to explain what game based pedagogy is and how it is applied to Game sense approach (QCA) and teaching games for understanding (TGFU). I will then continue to explain and examine GCA models and approaches. The areas I will be discussing are, constructivist and humanist, interventions and questioning and practise design. Furthermore I will go on to explain myself as a practitioner whether they was used in the kick ball rounders session …show more content…

Stream, and Enrique Garcia Bengoechea, skill and tactical instructions, promote student learning through skill based knowledge, skill development uses tactical approach to the game. Critically, in the session it is important to determine when to use this approach, TGFL suggest that we should introduce the tactical game understanding first. As this will help them have an understanding of why skills are needed in a game and why they need to use it. Then when they have understood this the technical approach of the skill can be introduced. However Turner & McPherson (1996) argues that instead of drills like in game based pedagogy it shows progressive practice and learning while enjoying and playing games. According to Forrest, G., (2014), by using Turner (2004) approach is seen as an umbrella term for pedagogical approaches and models that in games that have a ref action in them, have more of a controlled and structured game play to them and how pupils learn. This gives them the chance for individual learning as if they don’t progress the game and make technical and tactical approaches they will be unable to figure out how they would progress the game this would help to maximise pupil learning. Furthermore there have been some misconceptions about TGFU in secondary teaching, this method of learning is soon to be taught “game-practice-game”. Which demonstrates that we play a game first, them to improve on skills do a practice and then go back into a game, to see if the practice has worked. However in order to teach in this way it is imperative that pupils have first gained the pedagogical skills. This means that the tactics and specific skills associated with the game are learned and understood before by the practitioner then presented to students through game based approach. This will then create tactical and strategic problems for students to solve in the game which demonstrates a better understanding of the game and will maximise
