In life people have a plethora of choices, some you can control, others you can not. The way people respond can change the way their lives turn out. Choices in Blanche’s life were made for her and some she controlled. Outcomes of her choices shaped the way she acts now and how she responds to certain choices. In this book many events and desires led to outcomes that impact her life as a whole; her past, the different desires she has, and the outcomes shape the main plot of A Streetcar Named Desire. In this novel, the past of the main character, Blanche, is very important. Blanche comes from Laurel, Mississippi which is a pretty small town. She tried being an english teacher to pursue her passion and teach it to others, but the kids did not like english classes so Blanche gave up on it. Also, she had watched all of the other members die long deaths which was not fun for her, but this could just be another one of her lies. He is a guy that is very appealed by physical features. Since Blanche was drinking all of his liquor, living in his house, eating his food, and messing up his relationship with his wife, he decided to rape her. He also did it to “show her who’s boss” and to destroy her morality. Also, because of her past, a guy named Mitch started to like her but stopped when he found out about who she actually was. Blanche lied about her age and acted a lot differently around Mitch. Mitch makes Blanche tell the truth about her past and she gets super obnoxious. She yells fire out the window as a way to get Mitch to leave her house. In the end, it isn’t worth it because they were each other's last chances.
