Throughout religion, the question of life after death is often answered in a variety of ways. Common theories include a paradise type afterlife, the theory of resurrection, and a punishment based afterlife. A key afterlife component in both Christianity and Hinduism is rebirth. In Christianity, the resurrection of Jesus is a huge and impactful event that shapes Christianity. Likewise, the belief of rebirth in Hinduism guides their everyday life choices and decisions. The belief in a rebirth from the dead shares both similarities and differences in each of these religions. Both guide people’s faith whereas they contrast in a number of ways.

After living a perfect and sin free life, Jesus was to die at the hands of the people, his death sent him to hell. Three days after he was believed to have risen from the dead. This act of Jesus rising up from hell to then open up heaven to all the sinners is known as his resurrection. (The Bible) When Jesus was killed he took all of the sins away from all sinners and suffered the punishment for them. Below them are the Kshatriyas, the warriors, the Vaishya, the middle class or merchants, and the shudras, they are workers whose purpose is to serve others. (Britannica) The caste system you are in are determined by the actions and karma of your past life therefore Hindus live their lives with the goal of having good karma. They strive to do good deeds so when they are reincarnated they can move up castes and move towards moksha. Likewise, in Christianity, Jesus and his resurrection is at the center of each Christians life. They know the sacrifice he made and the pain he went through to help them get eternal life.
