There are 491 basketball players in the NBA, they all are very different in where they come from, who they are, and the impact that they are leaving behind. One player in particular is leaving his very own trademarked stamp on the NBA. That one players name is Derrick Rose, the youngest MVP in NBA history. Derrick Rose has played in the NBA for 10 years after attending the University of Memphis. Derrick Rose had to push through a lot of rough times in the NBA but has continued to stay strong. He keeps going so he sets a good example for the youth of Chicago as well as teens everywhere who are going through tough times. I will now share a quote from Derrick Rose during an interview. “Me saying it is something totally different," Rose said. "Me going on the court and showing them will let them know it was the right decision." The meaning behind this quote is that Derrick Rose was talking about coming back from his complete ACL and Meniscus tear. He talks about this after reporters and people outside of the team were questioning him about his lengthy return. Rose has spent more than a year and a half away from the game before he finally returned and was receiving many questions about why he took the extra year for recovery. Derrick Rose impacted kids everywhere with rough circumstances through growing up and having a really rough childhood in Chicago and growing up without a dad. Growing up without a dad can affect many kids in different ways, but he chose to show him what he was missing as well as growing up in Chicago. Derrick wanted to do something with his life and not be one of the people who ends up on the corner selling drugs for a living.
