As a result, Teri will send out an email to all TSCs that they will forward to each Program Adjunct Faculty. This email will provide a thank you and will serve as an invitation to the AHO Participation Celebration on Friday, June 10th at 2:00 p.m. at the Smullin Center with a link to RSVP. The email will have information fall and spring In-service day where workshops will be offered to help adjunct faculty members with institutional goals.
My personal qualities, experiences and values directly coincide with the Henrietta Schmoll School of Health’s Mission Statement. I am an extravert who cannot go more than a day without interacting with people and these interactions bring fulfillment to my daily life. The majority of my day to day life revolves around relationship-center activities. For example, I work as a coach for children from the ages of three to fourteen, I volunteer as a tour guide at my University and I lend my time to organizations such as People Serving People (the local homeless shelter) and the Special Olympics. My happiness is influenced by my ability to make those around me happy and I pride myself in my ability to make instant and long lasting connections.

My week 6 in Public Health was filled with unprofessionalism and full of sadness how public school has become. I was at Mt. Gleason again this week with Nurse Archer and Nurse Ana. We had to organize health immunization cards that has not been organized for a while. While organizing the health immunization cards, we noticed that the health immunization cards that were in the filing cabinets were mostly students that transitioned to Middle School or have transferred to another schools. It was very disorganized.
These experiences are just two of many that have influenced my decision to work in a similar environment upon my completion of medical school.
Along with the journal, Corbin must do a case study to present at the end of the program. This presentation is reviewed by doctors and the administration. “It’s definitely challenging, but then again, so is being an actual doctor,” said Corbin. Bonnie Ritchey, HCEP supervisor, agrees that this program is rigorous, but believes it is also tremendously beneficial. I was watching the Tavis Smiley Show and was happy to see a mutual interest in enabling a healthy environment. Additionally, when I first turned to the channel they was talking about mental illness and I appreciated the insight. I believe they complimented the conversation with their perceptions. He quickly flipped through a couple of hundred pages and pointed to a section. He said, read this first and then we will talk about it. This was the start, while I didn’t identify it at the time, of a constant back and forth between me and a couple of emergency medicine physicians who just happened to work in my local small town emergency room. They would not just answer my questions, or just tell me to do this or that, but that they would point me in the right direction to learn on my own and then be there to support me and to answer my questions. It is a practice that I have continued my entire career.
As an aspiring physician in Emergency Medicine, it is hard to describe typical physician workday activities. Every day is unique and filled with many opportunities to learn and develop clinical, interpersonal communication, leadership and critical thinking skills. During my sophomore year, I was fortunate enough to shadow an internist. I came in every other day and observed his interaction with patients. He managed patients from different age groups and diverse backgrounds. Various illnesses come through that door and I was there to witness aspects of it. I interacted with patients per the physician’s permission to do as such.
Introduction Plato, a famous Greek philosopher wrote the Allegory of the Cave. He tried to answer some of the profound questions which arose about the nature of reality. He tells the story of 'Allegory of the Cave' as a conversation between his mentor, Socrates (Plato’s mentor), who inspired many of Plato's philosophical theories, and one of Socrates' students, Glaucon (Plato’s older brother).
