The Rightful Equality of the Sexes: as Discussed by Mary Wollstonecraft in the Vindication of the Rights of Women
The need for equality between people, regardless of gender, age, and race is something that has been fought for throughout time. But the idea of feminism is a theory that has only become mainstream in recent years, or so it seemed. Feminism, by definition, is the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes. Mary Wollstonecraft was a revolutionary thinker for her time. She fought for equality between men and women and believed that the genders were completely equal and should be treated as such. Wollstonecraft crafted the arguments for feminism before feminism itself was a thing. Through her ideas of reformed thinking, Wollstonecraft had the methods and mean to pave the way for a more just world between the sexes; proving that a new way of educating could potentially change the world for women.

She thinks that most men are truly decent human beings, but some just had a false belief that men and women were two entirely different creatures. Since men and women were actually the same creatures in the same species, and since men and women are both born with the same ability to think and reason, Wollstonecraft stated that women should have the same right to education, power, and an influence in society as men were able to have. That is precisely why she wanted women to receive the same education and the same rights as men; to be just as wonderfully intelligent in a manner of things, as men were. She fully believed that, if given the chance, women could be just as, or even more, smart and virtuous as men were thought to be.
