“Some people feel like they don’t deserve love. They walk away quietly into empty spaces, trying to close the gaps of the past” (John Krakauer). Do you think feeling some type of way should give you the right just to leave everyone? I believe that McCandless is dumb for leaving his family and friends without a warning. Having them worried sick for him without knowing anything of where he is. How could a person do that to the people that love him.
McCandless is selfish and hard headed because he told the post office that all the mail that he will receive to send it back. They were kept for a while to make it seem that McCandless has got the letters. Once that time frame was up, they all went back to the senders so they realized that he didn 't want to be found or talked to.

To do so he wanted to go to Alaska before that he had to travel, work, and camp out a lot, so it was tough but he was up for the battle. When he made it to Alaska he was doing good and was finding happiness until things started getting rough. He started losing a lot of weight because of the animals were not coming out as often. When he turned to plants and started eating it, he did not realize he was killing himself. Right before he died, he said “happiness is better When shared” McCandless. When he realized that he was dumb and started regretting everything he has done. About being alone and finding happiness within.
In conclusion McCandless was dumb and he knew it at the end of his life. Why would it be ok just to leave and be alone and try to find your happiness. When he had his family that loved him and cared for him and was always supporting in his needs. He had no experience just off of books about being alone, finding happiness, and outdoors. That proves my point that he messed up and was dumb and not bold he is the cause of his own
